Brenda1221's Journal, 25 February 2014

I have opted for the bariatric Sleeve surgery. My journey to this decision has been filled with question attending seminars, and watching videos of those who have gone before me on YouTube. I had surgery on February 19, 2014. Before the fast for surgery I weighted in at 205lbs. On the day of surgery I weighted in at 198lbs. Tomorrow February 26th 2014 will be one week since my surgery. I will give an updated weigh in to mark the 1 week anniversary of the new me. Thus far I am very pleased with the surgery. Every day I feel more and more like my old self. I am sticking to the recommended diet with minor exceptions. I am lactose intolerant so my protein shake is made from green veggies high in protein and Greek yogurt made from almond milk it is very good. I am very excited to be on this journey and excited to take my readers along this journey with me.

Will Post an update soon

Well done Brenda1221! It's such a big decision! I've recently had my band removed, just wasn't doing me any good at all, plus lots of complications. I'm getting sleeved on the 6th May! So looking forward to it

Sherylnkent12 -- I pray you are as pleased with the decision as I am. If you have any questions than I can answer please don’t hesitate. For your post-op hospital stay you may want to take lip balm as you will be dehydrated from the fasting and then no food the day of surgery. I chose Vaseline lip balm it moistens without any flavors and it is not filled with chemical fillers. Another Item that I found very helpful was he GASX strips that melt on your tongue. When they get you up to walk some of the gas they pumped into your stomach for the surgery is still there and it puts pressure on the new stomach the stripes will help eliminate that gas as you walk and relieve some of the discomfort in the tummy. As I think of other things I will post before May 6th. I am praying for the best outcome for you :-)
