All I've done (except one meal a week) is cut out all grains, all sugar (honey, agave too), almost all processed foods, and keep fruits for the most part to small servings except for berries, and add healthy fats.
My sweeteners are erythritol and stevia. I didn't cut out Diet Coke (which has the questionable aspartame in it).
I don't really exercise because of a back issue. 40 years ago I was a runner.
