My starting weight was a big inflated. The previous weekend, Heidi and I spend the whole 3 days drinking and eating the foods we wanted to have while she was here visiting, before I started on my diet.

Also, I'm participating in a weight loss study through U of M. For the initial weight loss portion, I'm doing full meal replacement with HMR brand shakes and chicken broth. Due to that, my weight loss will be rapid in the beginning and I should be able to lose at least 15% of my body weight in 12 weeks. After that portion, the goal of the drs, nutritionist and trainer at U of M is for me to keep that off for 2 years, and to help me lose more weight if I so choose, which I will for sure...I really want to drop down to 200 pounds...Though apparently that's not good enough for my health insurance company, who says I should be at a maximum weight of 196 in order to be under 30 BMI, so I don't have to participate in Weight Watchers or pay higher premiums.

The first day of the diet wasn't too fun, but it wasn't horrible either. The worst parts were, of course, the times I was near other people who were eating, especially at work, where it wasn't just one person eating, then finishing...but rather a bunch of people heating up food near me and walking past with food for over an hour. However, I stuck to the diet and also made sure to do 30 minutes on Wii Fit. The shakes are delicious and quite filling. The soup is alright, but I need to find ways to doctor it up using spices and seasonings.
294.8 lb Lost so far: 3.2 lb.    Still to go: 84.8 lb.    Diet followed 100%.
