I have gained 17# on Low Carb. LC worked for me in the past but not this time. Maybe because of menopause? WW has worked for me too..and boy did I miss fruit. Looking forward to the WOE. Would like to lose 25# by Christmas.
175.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 25.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.

Hi, I also am menopausal but have lost 45 pounds since January. It has been, no doubt, more difficult this time, but definitely worth doing. It was a lot trickier this time around also as much had changed in 25 years in the low carb world. Definite baby steps were required. Only needing to lose 25 pounds is a plus for you. I encourage you to reread the Low Carb quidelines, make sure you getting enough leafy greens and water in a day and make SURE you exercise. For me this time around, exercise was the key. Without it I wasn't losing at all. I think that's where the menopause part comes in. Regardless, I hope this helps. It helped me, and more that losing weight, it decreased my blood pressure and my bad cholesterol and increased my good. Here's hoping you have the same results!

Thanks for your help. I know low carb works, I lost over 70 pounds in less than a year and kept it off for many years. That was around 8 years ago. I am lucky that my blood work is good either way I eat. I think this time I fell for the "free, unlimited fat". WW is relatively low carb as well and I missed a lot of the fruits. I drink a lot of water and have salads most days. As far as exercise, I hate "working out" love walking and I have 4 horses that are worked most days. That's about all the exercise I care to do :) I am going to give WW a try again, seeing that I already paid for three months anyway. If it doesn't work I will go back to LC but not go crazy with the fat and maybe less calories. (PS: I did quit smoking in April and gained some weight)
