Jbber's Journal, 06 July 2019

I spent 2 days in hospital. I had 2 procedures done - an TEE (transesophageal echogram)..they put a tube down your esophagus and then can visualize the heart, partially seeing both the front and back of all 4 chambers. Plus he put a cautery probe thru my leg to the atria where the pulmonary artery enters the heart and froze the entire entry point. All this in an attempt to stop my nearly constant atrial fibrillation which left me short of breath at times. Plus, it also stopped my atrial flutter. After a couple of days (5) of rest here at home, I feel good. I can begin my regular routine of walking and driving, but no lifting over 10 pounds nor swimming until a week from this Monday. After that the local pool had better look out - because I will be diving in!!!

Thank you. I have this habit of not staying down for too long. Was told once that I wouldn't walk again - but up until last year, I was running!! Only took me 2 determined years to get out of a wheelchair, onto crutches, 5 years to go to a cane, and now occasionally I can do without that; but not too fat. My motto: when they say you "can't", always work to prove them wrong! May take a while, but sometimes you can do it. Just don't beat yourself up if you find you can't - find some other way to surprise both the doctors and yourself. My plan: Live long enough to show them I have chutzpah! My great-great aunt lived to 105, I want to beat that.
