All I recently signed up as an Isagenix Associate and just received my first batch of products last night. A good friend of mine has been an associate for a few years, so I have tried some of the products through her. I felt as though I had a pretty good idea what the products were like, and what the company was about... so i figured, "Why not?"

My diet has been poor lately. I recently moved to a new place and started a new job. I haven't really "settled in" to any of it yet, and as a result haven't gotten a balanced schedule down. I'm not grocery shopping on a regular basis and when I do I feel un-inspired. I walk through the aisles feeling like I don't want any of it. Needless to say I end up eating out quite a bit. My meal options for lunch are pretty poor, unless I go to a local restaurant nearby. It's too expensive to do that every day though. I've eaten fast food one or two days each week for the past month, and have gotten little exercise.

The combination of all of these things has left me feeling pretty gross. Clothes I bought just a month ago are already too tight, I feel lethargic, am not sleeping well, have muscle tension, headaches, and in general am just not feeling well.

I've never been one to see diet supplements as a great choice or longterm solution. I prefer to go with whole natural foods, and when I do I feel great and quickly return to a healthy body size. Unfortunately, right now I don't feel like I have the energy or the time or the desire to keep up with it. What I know about the Isagenix system, is that the products are formulated to provide all of the needed vitamins and minerals the body needs while facilitating toxin removal. I am definitely feeling toxic!

I was feeling pretty icky when I got home last night so I spent some time putting my mind and my house into order. After a bit of tidying up, I was feeling better and decided to dig into my big box of product. I purchased the President's Pak, which includes a 30 day nutritional cleansing system, a blender, and a variety of other products. I spent a little bit of time reading the material and mentally prepared myself to get started in the morning. Before I went to bed, I decided to go ahead and take a capsule of the natural accelorator and isaflush. The accelorator is mostly cinnamon which naturally and gently bumps your metabolism up a notch. Isaflush is a combination of herbs to help with elimination. The material says only to take it if you have constipation issues, which I don't. However, I know from past experience that it is always beneficial to clear the colon out prior to beginning a cleansing diet or fast. Waste material held in the body can cause all sorts of unpleasant sypmtoms.

I didn't sleep very well last night. Only about 2 1/2 hours total, i think. I was pretty tired this morning and had to exercise a great deal of will just to get moving. I immediately went to the kitchen and fixed my morning dose of IsaSupreme. It's part of the cleansing program and contains a mixture of herbs and superfoods. It was sweeter than I expected, so I dilluted it in a glass of water. I began to get ready for my day and then fixed my morning shake before heading out.

So far I feel remarkably better than I expected. I'm not all that tired, and allready am feeling like I'm thinking clearer than I have in the past few weeks. I think my body has definitely been in need of nutrients.

So by the end of the day I was pretty damn hungry. I fixed my dinner shake and thought for sure that would do me good... only an hour later I was still hungry! Really hungry. So I fixed a second shake and experimented with a few approved additives for a different flavor. After the second shake, I felt full. Almost too full. I started to wonder if I just didn't wait long enough after the first shake. I have heard many times that it takes two hours for your stomach to signal your brain that it is full. The shakes, being liquid, go down easily and quickly. Without the normal time it takes to eat a meal, there is even a bigger gap between whey you are done eating and when that signal is supposed to hit your brain. I also noticed that I drank the second shake much slower and that it got thicker with time. Maybe letting the shake thicken up a bit will help with the full feeling as well?

After eating, I spent some time exploring this website a little more. I was checking the exercise page and adjusted my entries to reflect my work time. I saw "Total Calories: 4858kcal" and felt absolutely flabbergasted! What exactly does this number mean? I mean, if the suggested daily allowance is 2000 calories then nearly 5000 a day seems astronomical. Is this the amount of calories needed to sustain my current body wait at this level of physical fitness? I think it is! I look further, realize the number is the sum of calculaed calores burnt... and realize, yes indeed it is! So... I have been eating nearly 5000 calories a day??? Is that possible? Are these numbers correct? Well, in truth... they could be. I have been pretty unconscious about what I eat at times, especially lately. There have been days I have had fast food for lunch, then picked up a creamslush from sonic on my way home and I know that alone would account for 1500 to 2000 calories. But I don't do that everyday. I am truly speechless.

The flipside of this... is that if I just start to eat reasonably instead of consuming excessive calories, I should drop excess fat pretty easily, right? I also know that most often the issue isn't eating too much, it's eating poor quality of food that is high in calories and low in nutrients. It's my theory that the body craves nutrients, not calories. If you eat like a hog but eat nutrient deficient foods, your body will still be hungry. Hunger is about nutrition.

I complete my night by measuring myself with the measuring tape provided witht the 30day nutritional cleansing program. The numbers are disturbing and seeing myself in the mirror is too! I get everything recorded and I feel ok. In years past I would have felt a sense of impending doom, shame, or self loathing. Now, I feel a sense of acceptance. This is the state my body is in. It is a result of my choices and my lack of awareness. Ok. Facts, not emotion. The next fact is that what happens in the future is also my choice and I've already started making different ones. There is nowhere to go but forward. I love fatsecret.com for diet journal. It really helps to bring what I'm putting into my body into focus.
