I went to pick up my parents from the airport last night, got home around midnight, and felt the necessity to drink a glass of wine to relax before bed. Unfortunately that triggered a carbohydrate attack: 1 1/2 glasses of wine, two fun-size Twix bars, and four cookies. Late-night carbohydrate attacks triggered by wine are nothing new for me, unfortunately.
I think this is an effective demonstration that willpower won't be enough, in the long run, to lose weight and keep it off. I'll have to change what I eat. The Standard American Diet is just too unhealthy.
