Yesterday I had one of those zen moments, where you feel present in the moment and simply grateful for your life--the entirely of your life, warts and all. I'd taken my dogs for an hour and a half hike, and after we'd gotten back to the car and all had our water, we sat in the cool, breezy sunshine on a patch of grass, listening to the wind and birds. My oldest dog, a 10-year-old flat-coat retriever named Guinness, panted lightly, and was smiling (if you own a dog, you know this is possible). As I gazed on this animal, so happy and peaceful, I felt the same feelings wash over me. Just being out in the fresh air, in nature, moving our bodies (whatever state they're in), it's a tonic. It's so good for us; it's what we're meant to do everyday. Hope everyone can get outside this weekend! Have a good one...
