Setting realistic goals is important. 10 pounds might be an aggressive accomplishment unless you know it's doable. Wishing you much success. Keep us posted as to your progress. I'm working on 15 by Tday. Good luck and welcome back.

you have to do what feels right to you. and just keep with it. unfortunatly thase of us who have battled excessive weight; will never be able to eat like those who never had that fight. but then on the bright side; if there is ever a food shortage; we will survive while those others will starve to death. haha

Awesome!! Glad to hear your enthusiasm. Of course you are on the right track after having fallen off the band wagon a "little" bit. The great thing now is that you already know you CAN DO IT and as you mentioned, you know how. That is a major key!
I too started a couple months ago after realizing I weighed way too much and as all the measurements told me, I was OBESE. What a strong word it feels like. Anyways... have lost 25 lbs in a little over 2 mos and pushing for another 30 lbs. We can do it!! I want to get in the green of this scale, which means I am healthy: http://www.smartbmicalculator.com/result.html?unit=1&hf=5&hi=9&wl=205&us=0&ua=41&ue=0&gl=175&di=3&dt=3

It is difficult to take off and easy to put on. Don't let other people tell you what to do. When you get it off again and if it makes you feel good, then it is good. Others are just used to seeing you heavy & don't really understand...or maybe they are jealous.
Do it for you! You will be healthier & definitely feel better. Congratulations on getting back on the band wagon. We are hear for you!

Last night I hosted a ladies evening at my house; as I was sitting next to a 100-pounds-sopping-wet woman watching her gobble handfulls of chocolate trail mix, a couple bowls of soup with cornbread loaded with butter, a huge piece of caramel spice cake.....I found myself wanting to put my hands around her neck...Ha, ha...the struggle is real!!! Some of us are just not this blessed - period. We never WILL be this blessed and falling on and off the wagon is just a part of life that we need to accept. That doesn't mean we can't find something that works for us for the rest of our lives, but it'll still take effort and diligence on our part and every time we start over, we're one stop closer to finding that path. Good luck, I'm right there with ya!

Right there with you, Matt. I really had to come back because I had already donated all my fat clothes to Goodwill, and I'm straining trying to squeeze into size 6's (it's not a pretty sight) with a body about 1-2 sizes larger. The looming doctor's visit sounds like a great motivator!

Good luck Matt! You've done this before and you can do it again.

Hey Matt, welcome back! It's very easy to relax, get lazy about doing the things that made things happen, and then the weight creeps back. I'm up about 13 lbs from where I was and working to get back down. Sounds simple, but first it takes getting started back on track. It sounds like you're in the right place and frame of mind to do it and the simple plan you have is right on the money. You CAN do this, make this the starting point and take it a day at a time.

Never pay attention to anyone that says you've lost too much.

Hi Matt. I know how difficult it is to find yourself back in the same boat as you were before. I have been yo yoing for years. I was a size 0 in my twenties and then went to an 18. I am so tired of having my self esteem be dictated by a size. I have decided to do it right this time and eat what I want (within reason) and watch my portions and exercise. My scale is acting weird it said that I lost nearly ten pounds in three days LOL We both know that was a mistake. But I checked and am 225.2. I have 85.8 pounds to lose. I am not worried about the date just the journey, because this time it is for a lifetime. Be well and enjoy your runs.

Just wanted to clarify that "never pay attention to anyone that says you've lost too much" -- unless you're Karen Carpenter... ;) (Hugs Phil!) But seriously, best of luck to you Mattstoc! Like you said yourself, you've done it before so you know it CAN be done. That's pretty much half the battle right there. We're all here to help you and support you every step of the way! Wishing you every success!!!

Id really suggest you look at diet, 1400 -1600 calories a day of homemade food. It's working for me.
