Farm Gal 50's Journal, 03 February 2018

I have been using the MCT Powder and adding it to the bullet coffee. What a difference it has made in making my ketosis so much more efficient. I don't measure the blood, nor with the breath ketones. Of course, I would like to do the blood--it is undoubtedly the most accurate method. Nonetheless, I am limited in what I can spend. To me, it is more important to have the right foods, the supplements I need and be able to purchase new clothing. I use the keto strips you pee on. (OMG) Well, for a long time I could not get to the darkest colors--recently I am. You can see the difference it makes. There is a direct correlation between the consistent weight loss. I am surprised (being a woman of my age and all). I lost another half pound yesterday and weights I never imagined to see again seem doable.

I don't know where this journey will take me. I was hoping to (eventually) reach 180 Lbs. Now--the truth is when I set that goal it was out of reach in every way. I could not see myself ever reaching that weight. The scale has not been below 200 for longer than I can remember. In the 70's I was hovering around 165 Lbs and complaining about being too fat. Then, the weight edged up (many contributing factors), and before I knew it, 165 looked fabulous.

I feel optimistic and that I may be able to achieve the 180 mark--first, I need to drop below 200. Not long ago, it seemed impossible to conceive of the scale recording my weight below 220; however, here I am at 206.5 Lbs this morning.

To those struggling--you have to find the way of eating that is right for you. There are many paths to weight loss--they all work if you follow them religiously. Nevertheless, if you cannot conceive of eating similar to the program you are following, I would be concerned. Most of us here have lost weight before, only to gain it all back plus some. My personal goal (as I imagine yours is too) is to lose weight and to maintain that loss. For me, nothing works as well as the KETO diet. I heard it called the Adkin's Diet on steroids. I don't know if I look at that way. I see it using fat to burn fat--it is the chemistry. I feel well, and at the same time, I lose weight. I sincerely hope it keeps working and that I can see the 180 Lbs mark, but for now, I am going to be ecstatic if I can reach the 200 Lbs. I am hoping this will come soon. I had set a goal of 205 for Valentine's Day, but maybe I can beat that timeline. Here's to hoping.

Keep on keeping on. If you fail, don't beat yourself up--just get going again. Set yourself up with the right food and situations to succeed. Honestly, sometimes we are our own worst enemy. (Just a little food for thought.) One last thought--I am seeing the girl I thought was long ago lost. How freaking excited I am. That has got to burn fat, too! (Ha!)
206.5 lb Lost so far: 19.5 lb.    Still to go: 31.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
