The last few pounds are slower to come off. I'm wanting to set my new goal to 125, but I'm afraid that when I start building muscle it will be hard to get there. I think I need to spend more time looking at photos of ripped women to get my motivation up. :)

Gaining muscle will change the number on the scale, but since muscle is more dense than fat it will take up less space in your body; making the number on the scale misleading. I suggest you go by what the measuring tape tells you as you can most certainly gain weight and lose inches. If you google "same weight different bodies" and click on images, you'll find several examples of people with different figures at the same weight.

Thanks, Magdalena! It is definitely less about what the scale says and more about what the measuring tape and the mirror say (not to mention how I feel in my body, which is much better already!). I'll look into that link you mentioned.

Those images helped me put things into perspective. It was information that I already had, but there's just something about having a visual. Even measuring can be inaccurate due to human error (not measuring in the same exact spot that you measured last time is very common). Another good way to note your body change is the way your clothing fits. I just had to purge an entire wardrobe because everything was hanging off of me. I also experienced a unique way of my weight loss being acknowledged. A few months ago, my 5 year old son asked me what happened to my big fat belly. The results of that last example will vary by household and if you don't have a 5 year old present, I don't recommend you go out and get one! ;)
Best of luck to you!

I just saw this other comment you made, Magdalena. Thank you for the support. Congratulations on having to purge so many ill-fitting clothes! I love the 5 year old comment! So lovable. <3 I am loving fitting into my clothes better. I tend to shop for clothes a little too small because I stubbornly refuse to believe that I'll always be the larger version of myself. It is so awesome to have proven that true and to have done it with a diet that I can stick with.
