xohhjeez's Journal, 10 August 2015

Well, I think this weekend I may have finally hit my "rock bottom."

In a little less than two weeks, I will be acting as a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding. It's actually my trainer friend, the one that helped me so much with my weight loss journey so far. She is the one the worked out with me, and got me to start eating better and really focus on losing weight. Well I picked my bridesmaid dress up back in May, when I weighed around 147 and it was GIANT on me. Absolutely huge. I was swimming in it. I decided to wait as close to the wedding as possible to get it altered, because I had such high hopes of losing so much more weight. Well I still haven't gotten it altered, which stresses me out because of course I am so last minute. I look at it though kind of as a blessing in disguise. Unfortunately I have gained so much weight since May, the dress I once swam in, is almost too small to wear. Had I gotten it altered when I originally wanted to, I would not be able to fit in it for the wedding.

It's just really embarrassing though. My friend, who has seen more come so far, now has to have the fat version of me be in her wedding.

Well I meal prepped though, and I am drastically changing my eating starting now until further notice. If I gain any more weight I wont be able to fit in the dress anyways.

Hope everyone has a good week!

I share many of your experiences/struggles in that I'm 20 years old, my peak was 166 and my sister's wedding is coming up where I'll be the maid of honor. I understand your struggle, but don't put yourself down like that. Just think of all the progress you made so far. THAT is something to celebrate. I hope to use you as inspiration. Keep you're head up, you're still just as beautiful as you will be when you meet your goal.

I know everybody's body is different, and reacts differently to different ways of eating. But for what it's worth, I've been doing a ketogenic (low carb, high fat) way of eating since August 1st, and I'm down 8.8 lbs. in 9 days. Here's what I'm doing in a nutshell: 1. My daily caloric intake is my RDI minus 300 calories. 2. I'm staying at or below 20g NET carbs/day. 3. No artificial sweetners (with one exception, below). That means no diet sodas or sweetened flavored waters. 4. I'm keeping my daily calorie PERCENTAGES around 10% net carbs, 20%-25% protien, and 65%-70% fats. 5. I'm using fat bombs to satisfy my sweet tooth, and allowing 10-12 drops of liquid stevia in the recipes. 6. For breakfast, all I have is one cup of bulletproof coffee (black coffee, 1 tbsp. MCT oil, 1 tbsp. grass fed butter, and 1/8 tsp. cinnamon, blended well). 7. I measure/weigh and log EVERYTHING. 8. I drink lots of lemon water (water with a splash of organic lemon juice) throughout the day. Your mileage may vary, but if you're looking for ideas...
