Mmm. Maintenance calorie day. My body enjoys maintenance days. Cutting days - not so much. Workout tonight. I'm debating.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a minimalist. I've been making gains on 2 half hour workouts a week. That gives me lots of recovery time. As someone who will not take drugs (steroids), I don't believe what is shown in bodybuilding magazines is for me. I've seen gains on the 2 workouts a week that I've never seen before. I love it, but it's time to switch it up.

The question is, do I go to a high intensity 7 sets of one exercise only six days a week for three weeks, or do I go to a 3 day a week split between six exercises?

Envy your drive.

Pretty easy to have drive two times a week for a half hour. That's something I can continue. Gone are the 1.5 hour workouts six days a week. They don't work for muscle gains or for weight loss.

Love the new profile pic & really love to see you are still making progress in your journey here! For myself I enjoy the loss of useless information & the gain of accurate knowledge just as much & perhaps even more than the physical losses & gains! :D WTG YOU!.....BTW nice drop! :D

My uninformed guess would be the 3 times a week option. Of course there must be a technically correct answer lol. Look forward to seeing what you decide and the results. Well done!

Bliss, the difference is in intensity. A friend does this. He does leg day on Friday. 7 sets at near maximum. 4 reps per set. He does legs Friday because it takes him an hour to get his legs working in the morning when he wakes up. I think I'll try it.

Thanks, J. Fact is I've never wanted someone else to tell me what to do - particularly not a website. I'm on my own journey and it's much more about the learning than the final product. Now if that site told me why it would like me to change something.... Thanks for the offer though, guy.

You rebel you!!! Tho, I have been seeing a lot of articles lately stating that people tend to over exercise. What do you think?

Absolutely. Muscles are torn down during exercise. If you don't get rest and let them recover, you're tearing them down again before the progress is made. Not a rebel. Iconoclast.
