Well, for the past 2 days I've been following a very low carb diet, and I've FINALLY lost another lb. I'm almost afraid to record this loss, since as I said in my last post the weight goes down for a minute, then back up. Anyway, I read this article about treating Type II diabetes with a very low carb diet, which made me wonder what exactly does that mean? According to "the experts," it's around 26% carbs, which for someone trying to hold calories down to 1400 daily equals about 91 grams of carbs. That means no cereal for breakfast, a lot less fruit, and sugar-free chocolate. I can see the chocolate is the biggest offender for me (big surprise), as I'm probably eating just as much of the sugar-free variety as before. I can also tell you I'm not liking this diet very much, I miss my cereal & fruit so I need to rethink some of this. This diet allows for Ezikiel bread, which is interesting & my hubby likes it. Really, I'm doing this more for him than myself, since he's the one with Type II diabetes. Well, lots to think about here. Have a great day, everyone!
