BEING POSITIVELY PSYCHED!!

ok, weight kicked up a little again!! Don't know if it was the increased points (slightly increased, dammit!), or the increased carbs, or not enough water(i did drink 3 large bottles..but who knows?!). Anyway, I'm going to take a new chapter in this book and get down to POSITIVITY!!!! Yes, Evelyn, I agree, being positive will go farther than looking at the negative stuff!!! I am going to practice this more proactively.

On that note, today was an achievement. After lots of attempts at learnign to do push-ups, I finally mastered it today!!! Not only did I learn the form right, but my arms and triceps were able to handle it!!! Thus, I did 7-8 sets of pushups spread out through my workout, each set of 8-10 reps! I was so excited!!!! This feels great!! My body is not locked and inflexible as i have tended to feel and be discouraged, but rather, it's yielding new results everyday!! Like being able to balance myself on the bozu (proving improved core) on Tuesday, and learnign pushups today...the possibilities are endless now!!!! Pushing your body DOES yield changes and returns!!!!

In today's personal training session we focussed on building the CORE. (Tuesday was lower body, Thurs upper body, and today Core).
Jumping jacks interspersed with pushups: 20 jj x 3 sets, and 3 sets of 8 or so pushups
Lower back raises on machine: 3 sets of 10 reps
leg raises on machine (2-3 each time, was really hard!)
Ab curl ups on ball: 12 reps, 3 sets (interspersed with pushups)
Walking lunges: 30 x 2 sets, interspersed with 8-10 pushups
Abs curl machine: 3 sets of 15 reps
Leg throwdown: variation each side and center: 18 reps x 3 sets

Cardio on my own: 4 laps/4 mins of jogging on track, 1 lap walking (2 mins) walking, 2 min jogging, 3 laps walking (4-5 mins). Total running time: 6 mins! NOT ENOUGH!!

Homework: Need to go home and do more cardio on the treadmill (4 jogs of 4 mins each) and bike for 30 mins, pushups at breaks, burpees at breaks

Meals so far:
protein shake before gym: 3-4 pts
after gym coffee with cream 2-3 pts

143.6 lb Lost so far: 34.4 lb.    Still to go: 13.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 9.8 lb a week

It's natural for our weight to fluctuate daily. Too much sodium one day can make us go up the next. Exercise, hormones, stress, medications etc. can all effect our daily weight. As long as your overeall trend is downward, don't worry too much about the tiny fluctuations.
