Trying again...!

11 days have slipped by, unnoticed, in the frenzy of major stresses and angst...11 days w/o exercise, gym, and eating off-course. Not too too bad in general, but there were definitely 3-4 days where my carbs' level must have sky-rocketed thanks to chinese food + rice (2-3 occasions), or pizza (two occasions). The most worrisome aspect is the Gym-MIA...! It's been almost a year since I've been on FS, and I'd have hoped by now I'd have been HOOKED to working out..developed and inculcated this as a habit and as strict a part of me as brushing teeth!! And yet, wow! exercise still gets relegated into a category of stranger I haven't known before!!! How can this happen??! I want to become one of those adrenaline-junkies, addicted to workign out, and don't do or think of anything else until and unless they've worked out!!!! Nearly 30 pounds lost on FS, and yet I don't feel transformed in this way! I WAS hoping for a more obvious and visible change in myself--internally and externally...and yes, while there are subtle, long-lasting changes, I am yet to feel a dramatic, new-person-is-me change!!

Well, maybe 09 will be the year for such a dramatic transformation...a more gradual, refinement...fine-tuning...something like that..

In any case, I want to quit this BS-ing, and get serious. I have 5 weeks until the end of the year, and yes, COUNTLESS opportunities to get FAT! The holidays are here!!!! And friends and family appear to show their TLC through feeding me!! So, now's the time when I want to tighten those resolves, and get serious. Today has already begun well...I'm going to keep going now straight and narrow. Crossing off days on my calender. Everyday of carbs-watch, running, and lifting weights, and planned CHTREAT days! (once a week, but then, intense exercise earlier that day and the next one!).

154.0 lb Lost so far: 24.0 lb.    Still to go: 24.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 4.7 lb a week

You've come a long way since last year, baby! It took you several years to get to where you were last year...give yourself some more time to achieve your goals. Slow and steady wins the race. Being too hard on yourself results in self sabatoge. Take it one day at a time. Challenge yourself to schedule in exercise first thing in the morning...that way you're set for the rest of the day. Happy Thanksgiving! Hey are you planning on visiting the east coast in early Dec? Giovanna is throwing a farwell party for us, you're invited, of course!

Second all Julie said, except for the east coast stuff and Giovanna, lol! You are transformed, it's just taking you a little longer to notice it.

I think that change doesn't usually come in drastic measures - it is a slow process. Aristotle said, "Excellence is a habit long repeated." We do not exstablish habits in a day, or a week or even a year. Habits take longer than that to form. And you are transforming your life. Even if you don't see it, I think others around you probably notice it. 30 lbs is a great success story - and you have proven that 08 has been great!! Let the transformation continue!!

You've done great things and I'm sure you will continue to do so! I like your idea of crossing off days on your calendar so they don't slip away from you. Give yourself a big happy face on days you exercise, and don't let yourself have 2 consecutive days in a row without a happy face! As for transformation - practice, practice, practice! Every positive step adds to the transformation!

I've been trying for YEARS to get HOOKED on working out! It's really hard to stay consistent with exercise especially with all the other things you have going on in your life. You just have to do your best and if you slack off for a time, keep pushing yourself to get going again. One thing that I've learned this year is that it's going to take time to lose the weight I want to lose and stay on a steady exercise program. Keep going and never give up! Hang in there! :o)

Everyone above has said it already. You've done so much for yourself this year and will continue to be great. It's okay to slip from time to time as life happens. Just remember to get back into it and keep yourself healthy and sane. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow!
