If I gave up all my snacks, I would be seriously underweight. This week I'm going to seriously work on replacing the less healthy snacks with better choices, even if they take longer to prepare. I really enjoyed my baby carrots with edamame hummus last night; I could have hare some of the delicious organic celery, too, but that would have taken washing, trimming, and cutting. When did I get lazy about my health?

Tonight I'm making beer bread and peasant style pork and cabbage stew (crock pot) . I've already entered the bread recipe in me Cookbook; the stew will be easy to add once I've put everything in the pot and bread machine. I have to go buy the pork top loin chops after Zumba this morning.

Tomorrow I see my new podiatrist about my foot injury, so I need to print out the forms from his office as well as a list of my current medications. Hmm, busy day, should be easier to avoid snacking with abandon. I hope!

Uhm... could you please keep the beer separate from the bread for me.. Beer and stew - sounds fabulous. LOL - I don't know WHY I always make jokes like that ~ I can't remember the last time I had a beer. Seriously, I really can't... is it like that Wolfbrand chili .. if you can't remember the last time well, pardner, it's been too long?

I like laughing, joke away! I haven't had a beer in over 27 years, but I love the beer bread they serve at Huber's, a Portland restaurant that's practically a historical landmark. I love watching them make those flaming Spanish coffee when I eat in the bar...I digress. I found a recipe for beer bread that is whole wheat with wheat germ; I'm using Kerrygold butter in it for incredible flavor. It's baking now and smells like Huber's beer bread; I'm in aromatic heaven!

Hi, thanks for your comment on my journal. I really appreciate that you said I was 'living in the moment' when I noticed the sunrise. I strive or am striving to live more 'in the now' and finding it extremely difficult to do or rather difficult to recognize when I am doing it, does that make sense? So someone else telling me that it seemed as if I was in the moment, that helps a lot. Thank you. And like Bella, can I have my beer on the side as well as in the bread? I do like beer - mmmm - but so not low carb. I know there are low carb brands out there just haven't tried them yet.
