Wonderful feast day yesterday! Delicious steak, baked potato loaded, salad, cup of Wisconsin cheddar soup, Blue Moon on draught, stuffed mushrooms, a couple of onion rings, and Coldstone ice cream for dessert!! All in celebration of my mother's 73rd birthday which was on the 12th. Of course the scale reflected my feast which is no surprise. 223.6 this morning.

Because I am not feeling particularly hungry this morning I decided to make today and probably Tuesday by low calorie days this week. Wednesday we have our staff Christmas potluck so I'd like to be able to not worry too much about enjoying myself on that day. I won't go crazy but it would be nice to be able to pick and choose what I'd like to taste. My next feast day will likely be on Christmas Eve. I will cook a standing rib roast for the occasion, baked potatoes (for me and mom baked sweet potatoes), and a few sides. I can't believe Christmas is so close.

My heart is heavy thinking about those families in Connecticut this year who lost their children recently. Wile particularly poignant about the little ones it occurs to me that even the adults were someone's child, even though grown. So sad. So tragic. I feel too for the family members still living of the perpetrator of the crime. And for all those who live with mental health diagnoses who are being vilified by this one young man's choice to so tragically end the lives of others and his own. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

My migraine aura is just about gone. Hoping the pain doesn't materialize as I have several hours of laundry yet to complete. So far I only feel a little pain so please keep your fingers crossed for me!

I am starting to feel hungry finally so I do think I will have a bite to eat after I finish my water. But before I depart .... Grateful I am ...

For still having my mother with me, healthy and sharp as a take at 73. I am so grateful!

For still having my DH in my life. He truly is the love of my life. I am so not ready to lose him.

For having health coverage to buy Maxalt for my migraines. $25.00 a prescription rather than the $500.00 pulse it would have cost for me if I did not have for health insurance.

For my canine love, Blue, who keeps me company while DH is working nights.

Another day of relativity health and my family members and friends.

Enjoy your day. Count your blessings. Be kind. Be grateful. Take care of yourselves.

Yay for a nice day yesterday - and as you say, the gain is expected. That's how the game is. I commend you on making today your low cal day, since you're not really hungry anyways, but can you handle tomorrow too? That sounds like a big mouthfull (or rather, a very small one). I'm curious to see if you stick to that goal, a day from now. :)

No Keld ... today will be a regular calorie day, tomorrow (Tuesday) I'll do another low calorie. I don't think I want to do two low calorie days in a row. Besides Wednesday is our office potluck and I'd like to have the freedom to eat semi-normal for that occasion. I'll do my best to keep it reasonable though, no major feasting as I have a Prime Rib meal in my future on December 24th which is when I plan my next feast day.
