Nidoqueen's Journal, 17 September 2018

I got stuck in the 180's and spent the entire month of August there. It was a little distressing after losing 8-10 pounds per month every month prior to August. I knew the trend had to slow down, but I didn't expect it to come to a grinding halt like it did.

So I began something new for me. I added a little IF to my Keto. Good mix! It feels almost freeing to know I'm not eating for a particular meal. I feel like I suddenly have more free time. It's weird, but most of my life has felt like bits of time from one meal to the next. As chief cook and bottle washer, meal planning and prep has always fallen to me. It's just me and hubs now, and I have no compunction against telling that poor man, "We are fasting today". He is free to scavenge anything he wants to eat, but he rarely does.

Anyway, I've been slowly adding fast times into my weekly routine and it feels really good. I have been fasting from dinner to dinner and then eating a very healthy, low-carb dinner. By not eating all day during the day, I come home hungry and ready to consume, but I also actually have the necessary energy to create a delicious dinner that meets my nutritional demands. I guess this is becoming the new me :-)

good for you and when you hit a plateau like this it is also sometimes a good thing to add some extra calories to your day for a few days. but great you are enjoying your fasting times. feels like a vacation I am guessing.

@baskington, I have gone the other way and gone over my calorie plan as well... I guess the true secret is to keep the body guessing :)

I love to read what you write. “Chief cook and bottle washer”. I haven’t heard that in yeeears. Lol!! Anyway, congrats on figuring out how to kick your weight loss back in gear. That’s a huge accomplishment!! BTW, what is IF? I’m not doing ketos so I don’t know the terminology. I’ve thought about doing ketos but it kinda scares me. 🤷🏼‍♀️
