So, I'm sitting at a table in my hotel. I've just had a few sausages, I'm waiting for a few more, and I've had my eggs and coffee. I know what to stay away from. I'm still, according to calipers, at about 14% body fat. The heavy people are giving me strange looks. How can he eat like that they're thinking. I know that's what they're thinking. That used to be me. They don't understand it because they're doing the right thing. First, the bowl of cereal, because that's part of a 'good breakfast'. Then, the main course, more grain. Yep, it's the bagel with cream cheese not butter because cream cheese has half the calories of butter. They don't seem to consider that a quarter cup of cream cheese must be more calories than 2 tablespoons of butter. (I love butter. It's a staple.) And the coffee. Mine's black. Theirs? Surely the hazelnut creamer about 3 tbsp is good (hazelnut is good for you so you add it for that good fat that comes from nuts) and then, of course, an artificial sweetener to keep the calories in check. I could cry, or scream, but I could get kicked out of the hotel. Oh, what the he!! It's checkout time anyway.

Well I'm with you on the artificial ANYTHING.....I am not the brightest bulb on the tree, but figured that one out years ago....full fat or no fat....real salt or no salt...real sugar or no sugar.....depends totally on the amount....hope you are having a safe trip.....

That was most of us for all of our lives and very possibly the reason we have an epidemic in people of all ages of Metabolic Syndrome, the precursor to T2Diabetes which, for many, leads to inflammatory heart disease. It’s all connected. It’s inappropriate carbs, calories, hormones and exercise combined that appears to be the escape hatch from this most certain fate.

The thing that gets me is that the population is being led to by the food producers with the open support of health 'experts' who won't say anything outside of their training for fear they could lose their licences for going again the dogma. In my way of thinking, all Science funded by those with a vested interest is extremely suspect.

I have to remind myself to not be "that person" when I am shopping and there are people who are heavy and you can just see how miserable they are. I want to tell them "I can help you" but I dont want to impose myself or be rude. Also, who would take diet advice from someone who is my size, they would just laugh at me!
