Steven Anthony's Journal, 22 April 2018

Day Six was pretty easy. Just rested with some water, coffee, and one cup of bouillon. My weight today was 199, but I won't log weight until next Friday. I just wanted everyone to know that fasting weight is all about water loss. I am curious about what I will weight on Tues. morning, a more realistic weight.

Fasting is hard but I believe it allows the body time to heal without damaging metabolism. I have some health issues that need addressing. I do not take any medications, but have joint pain, muscle tears, and some other minor things I don't want to go major.

Have a blessed day everyone!

Congratulations :) Must feel nice to look at the scale and see it below 200. I hope to do the same next week. I know what you mean about the "Tuesday water gain". I have done that every Tuesday for months :) The thing I plan to do differently this week is staying on the fast longer. The first two days are the hardest, but last week day 3 and 4 were the easiest. I only ate because I wanted to, I was not hungry. Anyway we will see how it works out...

@Adefwebserver, thanks for the encouragement! Good luck on your fast this week. It does feel good to see a number under 200, at least I am moving in the right direction, but Friday will be the truth lol. So weird adding a third day of fasting, I will report tomorrow on how it goes. Have a great day!

Well done! Fasting is a challenge. I am just learning its benefits myself. I will be interested in how you feel when you are done with your fast.

Do N Ok, THanks...I started with 24 hrs, then 48 for 4 weeks, now 72 hrs for 12 weeks. It gets easier practicing progressively.

Good luck with the fasting. I asked my doctor about fasting and told him I did intermittent fasting - just eating between 6am and 2pm and he was very encouraging and told me studies show that people who fast tend to live longer. I've done some accidental 24 hour fasts (not having time to eat in the morning because of appointments, etc after not eating since 2pm the day before) but don't think I could do 24 hours. Maybe I'll give it a try though.

Meant to say I don't think I could do a 48 hour fast!

@Fritzy 22, thanks for the comment! Not only do fasters live longer, they have less metabolic disease and autoimmune if I am understanding the protocol. When I first started fasting I would feel ill around 18 hrs, but now I just feel normal but a little weak. I plan nothing for the weekend, but feel like I could wash the car or something. But, it's supposed to rain, so I got out of that one lol...

I am looking into starting a Modified Fast Diet for just the brnefits you have cited! 💁🏻‍♀️I do have long term health issues and take meds I have to eat with so it is always a dance to eat with and around medicine time to get them in. I have tried going off them with my doctor. LOL THAT didn’t go well! LOL 🙋🏻So now looking toward this as a possible way to go!

Good luck to you. I am a believer in fasting and its many health benefits. My last long fast ended last Wednesday. It was 5 days. It's amazing how healing it can be and how great you can feel on a longer fast!
