Fritzy 22's Journal, 09 December 2017

What a day! Started out okay - took Bobby to the dog park and stopped on the way home at the little market everyone in my town shops at (the nearest big grocery store is 15 miles away). There I saw a man who has been at the dog park every day since I started taking Bobby there. I said hi and that I must have just missed him and Max. He said he lost Max. I didn't understand and he said someone opened the door and Max ran out. I told him to check our neighborhood Nextdoor website because someone probably has seen him. Then he said it was at Taco Bell and someone opened the car door. He said it happened 2 days ago and he's gone to the 2 local animal shelters and posted something on the local radio station's website. I was so upset, thinking "what if it was Bobby". And I know Jim's wife just had surgery and is bedridden and he is cooking, cleaning, taking her to doctor appointments, etc. So when I got home I decided to go to Taco Bell - 15 miles away in the next town and go to other businesses to see if anyone had seen Max. It's also a small town, but has all the fast food places and Taco Bell is right off the freeway. I went to about 10 businesses and everyone was so nice - can't believe how friendly small towns can be. A young man at Taco Bell said he lived just seconds away and would look for Max. I also gave my phone number to the auto supply store, and a young lady at a pizza place also took my information and said she volunteered at one of the shelters and knew Max wasn't there but would check on Monday. A lady at a place that I think sells stuff for motorcycle people (know nothing about motorcycles) was very helpful walked me all around the property and showed me where sometimes dogs show up. She said she'd keep an eye out for Max and then let the men know in the building across the parking area that were in bible study at the time. I even went to a tattoo parlor and they were very nice. The woman in an office supply store told me to let Max's owner know she would print up flyers for him free of charge. Now I want to support all the local business people that were so nice so I may end up with a pizza from the pizza place, windshield wipers from the auto supply place, Taco Bell does well enough without me and I know I won't get a tattoo! But if I know anyone who rides motorcycles I know where to refer them.
Needless to say I didn't have time to worry about eating anything and it's now past my eating time for intermittent fasting so I've done fine today.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately the place where Max was lost has to be the highest traffic area in the town - freeway on raps, off raps, 2 or 3 stop lights, really busy. I have to call Jim and let him know about the flyers he can get printed. I'll help him post them if he needs me to and I'll let others at the dog park know, some of them will probably help. There are 5 or 6 dogs that meet at the same time every day so all the owners know each other and love all the dogs. Mylahxandermom - yes I am in Northern California. I live in Lake Wildwood, Max was lost in Grass Valley. The local animal shelter is the most likely place he would end up if found - everyone knows where it is and it is also a rescue, no kill shelter.

Update: Max has been found and is safe and back with his owner. I did another journal posting with a picture from the dog park this morning but know it may not be seen by some who commented and sent well wishes.

I hope Max returns to his owner. When it comes to that last meal for the day, I've done it while making food for everyone else while I was studying and then before you know it, I'm so tired and it's already bed time. One time last week, I ate late was tired an hour later. :(
