Happy Tuesday!

Reporting my own N=1 experiment. I have glaucoma. My unmedicated pressures 3 years ago were around 20. With two different drops we got my pressures down to 14-15. Last month I went on vacation and forgot my eye drops. I thought about calling the doctor's office to have a Rx called in for me, but I had heard some comments about keto helping with eye pressure. I have been strict keto since late April so I decided to go without drops for one month and see how my pressures we're at my next appointment. My appointment was this morning. Unfortunately, my pressures were sky high - 26/29!! I will be going back on the drops immediately...on another note, my doctor was concerned about my kidneys and ketoacidosis and was not convinced I had done my research on this WOE. She kept trying to tell me keto isn't safe. (She gave me the spiel she probably got in her one semester of nutrition in college - old, disproven info...but she came from a place of concern so I can forgive.) She ran all sorts of eye tests - visual field, nerve fiber layer analysis, and others to make sure I haven't done permanent damage to my vision. Everything looks fine, so I will continue with my keto WOE and continue with my eye drops.

Make your Tuesday terrific!

You got this, grammy. Ketosis and ketoacidosis are 2 very distinct states of being. If you have no T2D issues, you will never have an issue. Carry on.
