Keto-Flu

The first few days of Keto/LC are REALLY hard. Yesterday; I was sooo foggy and run-down. I drank LOTS of water and had some chicken broth with lunch; so salty! I'm still working on a bit a headache; but not nearly as bad as the last time I had the keto flu. I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not super intent on getting into ketosis, but I love being fat-adapted. I've never done more than a 16/8 IF; and I would love to try an 24 hours fast. Sounds amazing!

I'm a little unclear though; can I still have broth? I know unsweetened tea and coffee [and water, obviously] are ok; but what else is "accepted" in a fast?

Happy Thursday! 16 days until Christmas. 26 days until my 34th birthday and 8.5lbs to current goal.

I did the 24 hour fast eating once a day. Started that 3 weeks ago. What I noticed is that your cravings go away. I drank plain coffee and Water through out the day and setup reminder on my iPhone when fasting starts and when Feasting begins. After 24 hours I eat that 1 big meal that's it - then fasting starts for the next 24 hours. Just this week I started Keto and so far I have dropped 6 pounds. I'm still experimenting with just eating GREENS, A PROTEIN WITH ADDED FAT . . . SO FAR it's going good. Best wishes to you.

The first few days are hard. Stick to it. Once your glycogen stores in your liver are burned off you won't feel hungry but you may occasionally get fuzzy head if you are pushing yourself too hard. Plenty of caffeine helps. I recommend guzzling all the diet sodas you want.

Yes broth is fine

Oh and one more thing. Oatmeal doesn't seem to be as harmful overall to weight loss and making you hungry like other carbs do. Proly any whole grain except rice or wheat would act similar. I will usually try to have the juice of one lemon per day and occasionally add a small green apple

Yes, but that is not a ketogenic diet. Dewey is aiming for ketosis and apples and grains will send her back to square one, even the juice of a lemon. You're talking a wholly different game.

True I have a little more leeway as a male. Still I tryto keep carbs below 150 grams and close to 100 grams

For me it's below 25, preferably under 20 grams of carbs to kick into ketosis and stay there. 100 grams is weight gaining mode for me.
