Sugar Waffle's Journal, 27 August 2016

Sorry if this pisses most of you off. Topic: alcohol. Too much alcohol can also cause heart failure at any age. Saw it first hand. I do not drink alcohol. I personally have never seen anything good come from it, besides it tastes horrible.

When I turned 14 a so called friend gave me a drink of juice. Didn't know what alcohol was at that time. It was mostly vodka and a drug in it. Last thing I remembered at that time was being thrown into a snowbank like a piece of garbage. Woke up 3 days later with permanent injuries, and shame that have lasted 42 yrs and counting. Yes, alcohol can ruin lives.

So to the young ones on here, think twice

Warren, I found that most people don't want to believe the truth or they can't deal with it

Drugs killed my son when he was 31. July 4, 1998... You won't ever forget, but the pain does lessen. Not much... but some.. {{hugs}}

What's this got to do with food? I hid behind my weight. I found that when I was heavy, people stayed away from me. Wouldn't talk to me. I think there are way more members on here who have gone through some horrible things and are hiding and comforting themselves with food.

Why would this piss anyone off? You have endured tragedy and trauma from alcohol, as have many others. Everyone makes their choices based on what they know. Some people just can't handle drinking or drugs, and most of them can't handle life, either. I'm so sorry for your pain, Sugar. And I'm glad that you've found YOU.

Remember I put on my journal here about a man who changed my life 3 yrs ago, just by sharing his thoughts? We talked around 3 weeks ago. I swore I would open up about my life the next time we spoke. I finally got the courage up and he said he didn't need to hear it, for it wouldn't change what he thought of me. He saved me from bringing up the pain again. Instead, he taught me a beautiful life lesson. He never knew I released over 100 lbs. He never knew I have studied about quantum and meta physics, alternative medicine, and learned how to love myself since that one day 3yrs ago. All because of another's thoughts. Mind blowing actually. Anyway, I will be eternally grateful to him even if I never hear from him again.

Anything in excess is bad I'm not a drinker either but back when I was young I did party on the weekends! You are right I haven't seen a whole lot good but there were sometimes that wasn't. So I learned many lessons there! I'm sorry about what happened to you, that must have been scary and horrible!

That gentlemen was put in your life for a reason and you were wise enough to learn from him. Kudos. May we all meet a person such as him that will give us the drive and desire to make our lives better.

kpwcalories, if anything had happened any differently, we would have never been able to meet up. Just awesome how the twists and turns in life bring us to some wonderful moments :) So, so happy to have been able to meet you in person :)

Well, Sugar, I think the things, that happen to us in life, can make us stronger, and I see your giving on here with your very wise words. You can understand others, and are always here to help in any way you can. You are a very sweet lady, and a remarkable model for dieters, and health advocates. Thanks for sharing, and thinking about others, while reliving such pain. It is so hard losing loved ones, I have lost all of my family, but we can still share the great memories with have of our loved ones.

I am struggling with the addiction of food and sitting on my can, and personally I do not need to add alcohol. A glass of wine with a wonderful dinner is terrific, however, I would rather use my calories somewhere else! Everyone has to find their own niche, and that includes a diet that works for their body and metabolism. Some can add in a drink here and there, and it is not bad while others can take one drink and off they go into la-la land. Blessings to all of you! Have a great weekend!

Wow...very tragic story... I have said the exact same words as you..."I've never seen ANY good come from alcohol"! It is true and like with any addiction, often we don't know our predisposition to something (alcohol, drugs, food )until we are hooked.

Sugar, thank you for sharing your story. It sounds like alcohol has had more than devastating consequences in your life. I'm so sorry that these tragedies happened to you. My father was an alcoholic and that fact ripples through everything.
