Diea's Journal, 30 November 2015

I crossed over for real this time. I'm in the 160s!

Sadness. I was so close to 139 in 2014. I want to go to the extreme and stop eating. I want to try fasting to start all over. Is that insane?

Ugh. This is so disappointing.
160.5 lb Lost so far: 66.5 lb.    Still to go: 33.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.8 lb a week

Yes all that matters is what we do today - right now is all we've got so regret for the past and good intentions for tomorrow are illusions that don't help. You will be alright if you remember that.

Ditto what has already been said....every day is a wonderful opportunity for a new start. Make today that new start. :)

Why would you think fasting is insane? Fasting is practiced by all major religions. What is insane is simply throwing fasting into your diet without planning? My daily routine is Intermittent Fasting (IF), I eat in an 8hr window, from 12 pm to 8 pm, the other 16hrs including sleep is fasting. As you're starting over, I have an LCHFIF challenge starting tomorrow..runs for 4 weeks...followed by the introduction of fasting in the second month, and maintenance in the third month.

Mahjohn: not too long ago the majority of the population of this planet used to think the world was flat, didnt make it true ... fasting is proved to benefit a lot of things but no study has ever proven that fasting helps people lose permanent weight in the long run.

Puhpine... you're joking right? What do you think powers your body when you're not feeding it?....it lives off the stored carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. If you've stored excess fat, give it a chance to use it. You should give Dr. Jason Fung's page a visit, amongst others: https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/fasting-cures-diabetes-t2d-4/

and what do you think happens to that body after you start feeding it again? duh!

You do not gain back everything you've just lost...that simply doesn't happen, and you don't eat massive quantities of food....again, simply doesn't happen. Eat-Stop-Eat by Brad Pillon, 5:2 Diet Plan, Reversing Type II Diabetes Dr. Jason Fung, all of which...all...successfully use fasting to reduce weight and lower blood sugar. Even Intermittent Fasting (IF) is used by many on a daily basis 16:8 cycle...IF for 16hrs, eating in an 8hr window.

Thank you everyone for your positive comments. The fasting debate is interesting. I know I thought of it for the wrong reasons. I mean, that was definitely self-pity. I was feeling so down about the number on the scale. I'm better now, and I'm back in the active stage, so I'm slowly getting back into my healthy routine... and it feels great. Anyway, thank you everyone for your support. I really do need to read these things. I love the FS community. <3

Diea my advice is to make a plan and follow through educate yourself on programs and stick to one . I align myself with @Mahjohns way of thinking ,, and I do IF as well on a daily basis . but I didn't just decide one day on this WOE I educated myself and planned and prepared to move in this direction . Which is what I suggest you do . You are going to get a lot of different views and ideas on FS because not everyone follows the same plan it can get very confusing . So as I said ,, find a plan and stick to it .
