Good Morning, FS Warriors! Another beautiful day in the neighborhood! Unfortunately, I have to spend it at work. However, I have been focusing on treating every day as a gift, whether it is at work, at home, some exotic paradise, or even in the ER. Obviously, I have my preferences, and I don't spend much time in the ER. Knock on wood! Last night, I ate a couple bowls of DW's old Weight Watchers Chile recipe - you know, the one made with french style green beans. I've been eating it for thirty-some years, and I still, to this day, can't believe I actually like it. It's just so - not Texas style chile. But it really is good. My only indulgence was saltine crackers. They have always been my favorite kind of cracker, and it's not likely I am goiing to give them up - or even go with the saltineless crackers. Yeah, I probably just made up a word; if it isn't in the dictionary, it ought to be - just like the other bad words.

I've got worship practice tonight. With a little luck, most of the group will show up. We usually have a pretty good time. We are not all that rigid. We are so far from being professional performers, that I've told the guy on the sound board that if we sound off--key, just turn the volume down. We're really not that bad; we are just more about creating an inclusive and upbeat atmosphere for worshipping God. After all, the bible says, "Laughter doeth good like a medicine!"

I probably mentioned sometime back that the place, that I bought my truck from, had pinched my radio antenna behind the A/C evaporator when they fixed my A/C, and the radio no longer worked. Well, the Service Manager admitted that they broke it, and he was going to order it and fix it at their expense. That was like 3 weeks ago. I stopped there on the way home last night and asked him what was going on. He wouldn't even look me in the eye, and told me that he was just back up, he had called the dealer and they had one in stock. Well, that's not the same as ordering it. I think he was lying anyway. I'm going to give him another week and I'm going to go talk to the owner. They have a website that allows customers to give feedback, and I won't hesitate to let the world know how unreliable their word is - if I don't get satisfaction. I have since installed a nice radio, and a temporary rubber antenna that I have lying on the console, but it's not the same as having the original equipment working.

Well, I'm going to try and exercise reasonable restraint between now and Friday morning, and see what glad tidings the idiot box will bring me. I wish you all a great day! Toodles!

I, too, refuse to give up saltines. They are the cracker of my childhood, the cracker my dear departed Mama gave me when I was sick, the ones I gave my 5 children when they were sick and could keep nothing else down. The cracker I used to eat with butter AND peanut butter. The best cracker ever. :)

I'm saltine lover too, my all time favorite cracker. My husband thinks they are too bland, but I could eat a whole box by myself.

If you can't have fun and enjoy playing music there's really not much point in doing it, eh? We have our practice tonight also. looking forward to it, get to play some banjo this week. Hope you get a good weigh in Friday.

I, too, love saltines. The story is 10 crackers equal 1 slice of bread. Don't care. I can go through a sleeve of them with any kind of spread or topping, including peanut butter. Saltines can go with anything! Love music. I bet you all have a great time in worship.

Kattay, you have the same hunger gene that I have. I swear, when I get hungry, I had better come up with something reasonable and nutritious in a hurry, or out comes the peanut butter and saltine crackers.

I didn't realize what I was sacrificing by substituting french style green beans for red kidney beans. It looks like there are over 600 calories in a cup of red kidney beans. Holy Toledo! That's half my daily allowance of calories!

:)So true! PB and saltines take care of the hungries. So easy to eat over a cup of beans (not green beans). The recommended portion is l/4 cup. Might as well not eat any!
