THE WAY WE ARE TAUGHT TO THINK IS RIDICULOUS

Just getting home from a 5.75 mi run (actually a mix of running pavement and trail, stairs, steep climb up city streets) and 8.6 mi bike ride. I feel great and easily could have kept on going. And because it was easy as I was getting home I had the though that I must have calculated the miles wrong! Fd up thinking: if it's easy it's because I'm doing it wrong. Not because I'm getting stronger, or because I was always capable, or because everything I needed was always available to me.

I am sure many of us here endured so many messages for so long about what our bodies are capable of that we have moments like this.

Wow! Well I think you must have kicked ass is what I think. Throw some swimming into that and you could compete in a triathlon.

You're welcome! It sounds like you really enjoy your workouts. I wish I could get to that place.

I really do. If I had the time and my knees would hold up, I'd run 8 or 9 miles of trail each day. So many beautiful trails here in LA. Maybe you will get to that place. You might surprise yourself.

Aside: it is so annoying that FS limits the formats of our replies. Can't break up what I write in to paragraphs or include links.

I'm just lazy. I hate physical activity. HATE it. I'm more of a knitter, sitter, reader, cat cuddler. Where I live has lots of flat. You can see so far into the distance that a. You're probably looking into either the future or the past depending on which direction you are facing, and b. you can actually see the Earth curve. Let me draw you a picture since I can't post a link. ______________________^____________________________ <----look a house!
