Kids are slackers!!!

It's 4:30 PM. I would have had the pillowcase half full a second time by now. Oh, the old days. I have yet to see one kid. Am I the mean guitar teacher?

Slackers I tell ya!

Wow...I was thinking the same thing. Outside *crickets*. Love the pillowcase...it was always our weapon of choice. :)

It's that ferocious dog of yours scaring them away.

Oh, yeah! Killer. She's terrifying. 5:15... nada! Too lazy to walk to get candy?

Trick or Treat didn't start until 6 here. Does it start that early there? I'm up to 36 kids in an hour and a half. That's not a ton. It's FREEZING and super windy here today though.

Doesn't start until 6 PM? Where is the stout of heart (or the stout), the libertarian, the rule breaker. What are we teaching these kids!

It's now 8:45 and not one kid. I didn't even see any kids while I drove home tonight in Halloween costumes. I walked into Winn-Dixie to night in my Halloween Costume (work party) lot of smiles and people looking as if I was alien. Have children and adults forgotten how to be creative.

That mommy and daddy, well they don't live together anymore, but they both work, and can't pick you up from the after, after school program, baby sitter's house until 5:30. Hey if it makes you feel better, a kid just came to the door with a pillow case. and it's cold, yesterday was not cold, today it's 40 mph winds and COLD.

Halloween was canceled here in 2006. 4 feet of snow in 12 hours. First snow of the season.

Oh come on! Dress as a submarine and stick a periscope up through the snow!

We've lived here 25 years and never had one kid. Yeah, we're down the end of a country lane. So he bought 6 bags of candy just in case.

Instantcrazy. Any kid with the gumption to do that up here, the submarine thing, would have cleaned up.

Right now kids are cleaning up at my house. CR that's too funny!

Well it is all over for another year. Just turned the light out. Had a grand total of 11 kids. That included my 3 grandchildren who were super cute but I might be biased.

I ended up with 42. In the beginning each kid got about 2 or 3 pieces. At the end they each got 2 or 3 handfuls.

It's okay to be biased with Grandkids. Still waiting on those. Maybe next year?

The funniest thing I saw today was my bus driver dressed up as Raggedy Anne. There were like 4 kids at 5:30 and that was it. I don't bother any more. Most kids go to the zoo sometime before Halloween here. Of course the rain, sleet and high winds could have kept them home.

I think Halloween may be all but over for the littlest kids. Think about it: cold - walking - miniscule packages... I think it's just the candy people who really try to push it. I think it is soon to be a thing of the past. When I was a kid *say with an old man's voice* it was actual bags of chips, fullsized candy bars, and even the occasional bottle of pop. It's over.
