Happy Tuesday!

Well, I was right. My gynecologist would never have noticed/mentioned my weight loss if it wasn't for me declining the offer of renewing my Rx for Nexium and Wellbutrin. She was startled until I told her I stopped taking them early in September and haven't felt the need for them since. She wondered what made the difference and I told her I was living a healthier lifestyle; eating fewer processed foods, more fish, more vegetables and fruits and trying to balance my carbs and protein...as well as adding in exercise. She was happy about my changes.

On my way home from the doctor's office I stopped at Meijer to do some grocery and household shopping. I came across a section of exercise equipment on clearance. One thing was a large medicine ball. It was originally $80, but had been marked down 90% to $7.99. I texted my son who is a workout junkie (fights MMA) to see if he thought it would be good for me. It is a 12 pound ball. He says it's a little heavy for me, but if I can't use it he'll take it. While talking on the phone he came up with an exercise we can do together...something about me standing up and throwing the ball to him as he does sit-ups and then he throws it back to me...I'm having trouble picturing that, but it's nice that he wants to exercise with his mom!

Make your Tuesday terrific!

Plenty of doctors are blind to facts like yours. Good for you for kicking the meds and having a healthy lifestyle. Your body loves you for both!

Lol sorry in my head this is how that played out. 12 lbs is a little heavy for you, here mom catch, thanks son. It is good be wants to exercise with you! Doctors, sigh. "eat healthy, here is some medicine, wrote how did you get healthy?" guess they aren't used to people like you. Great work!

Instantcrazy ~ lol...it was more like, "Wow! you found a medicine ball for $7.99?!! Oh Mom, that's probably too heavy for you...but pick one up for me will ya?"...to which I replied, "Oh no you don't...this is MY deal...I'll share when you come over...if it's too heavy for me MAYBE I'll let you take it home." I see contestants use them on Biggest Loser. Seems like it should help firm up my wobbly upper arms. Now I need to figure out where to get those rope things they do where they lift the ropes and smack them back on the ground again...that looks do-able for someone with knee and vein issues.

Those ropes are dang hard, the medicine ball is probably easier. Trainer had me trying them at the gym. Made my neck really hurt, with a 4 level cervical fusion we decided with the pain that followed I should not do that.

Sorry meant to put more that post. Congrats on your good doc visit. Even with the weigh ins the don't always notice weight loss. Also very few docs are focused on health, they are more focused on disease. So lucky I have a doc who ushers health, fired the others, grins.
