YAY! Back in my 120's where I want to be. The 5:2 diet seems to work! The days I didn't record food at all I ate a LOT. The days I did record I didn't record everything I ate. I was really enjoying myself. But with the 2 ultra strict days I have a net loss over the last week. I am going to try to wait until this time next week to weigh again, and see what happens. It will take a lot of willpower to stay away from the scales, but I am going to try really hard. I want to transition into "normal" behavior. I think of a normal person as someone who lives life without obsessing over the scales and over everything they are eating. A "normal" person puts all that energy and emotion into LIVING.

Try to weigh after a fast day. I usually plan Sunday as a fast day that way I can weigh on Monday. If I go on vacation or do not choose it to be a fast dat I still weigh but you will see the most progress after a fast day osince you will shed most of the water weight especially if you've eaten a salty meal.

Uau! 120 lb already! That was fast! That's amazing! :)) And it's amazing that you get to eat a lot on the other days as well! You have a point regarding not spending time with scales and, especially with registering everything one eats! That's a lot of work!

I wish I could just put a machine in my mouth that would sort out that stuff lol. But yeah, even if your weight temporarily goes up, it won't matter as long as it keeps going down in the end so definitely avoid the scale

On the days you are eating light or fasting how much do you cut back on intake? I have read recently about the 5:2 diet plan. Some folks seem to really like it. Some fast all meals but one per day on the fasting days and some don't eat at all on the fasting days.

I cut down to 500-550 on Fasting Days and I eat normally on regular days. I have pigged out on some of those days but in general I try to keep it under control between 2000-2300 calories. I break it up into 3 meals. Since my job is physically demanding I can't go 12 hours without any nutrition by eating two meals a day. Kind of like Dr. Mosely's wife in the 5:2 Diet Book.

My experience is the same as Sherota. I don't go over 500 on fasting days, I eat three meals on the fasting days (high bulk, like veggies and lean meat) then on my other five days of the week I eat what I want but try not to go absolutely nuts. I enjoy everything everyone else is eating, but I actually like stuff that's good for me so it makes it easier I suppose. I haven't read the book yet. I will have to get a hold of one - should be helpful, and interesting to get the rationale and background for the diet.

By the way, euheide, I am IN my 120's - not 120. But maybe eventually?

Thanks for sorting that out Farfelu, after I wrote that post, I went to check your graph and I saw that I had made that mistake heheheh. But it's still a very fast progress nonetheless! :)
