Mrsroboto, I found them at publix. They are also called pasta zero. Walmart might have them too

I might have to try these. But, serious question, for those of you who have a real addiction to things like pasta, rice, bread, etc (i do, it’s real), do you feel like the low/no carb substitutes kind of mess with your head? I have to stay completely away from that type of food, and I just wonder if it’s a slippery slope to even go there? The mental aspect, not the carb part. What has your experience been?

Mrsroboto - i get exactly what you mean. that's how i feel about keto desserts. those are a slippery slope for me. If i make keto cookies... I can't just eat one. I need to have like 3 in one sitting - so the carbs do end up adding up. but with these pastas i don't find i have that problem. the texture is very different from real pasta. nothing will replace real pasta and that's taste. These do replace them for me well and it satisfies the craving. their super filling, so it's not like i can over indulge in them. everyone's different. i would give them a try and i feel like if it triggers you. you now know to stay away. i stopped making desserts.. i really don't need them.

My grocery store has them in the pasta section. These are the Weight Watcher Skinny Pasta brand. no smell and easy to cook.

How do they smell? Strange question but the shirataki noodles have that fish smell that is so tough to get past.

For those of you that suffer from “carb addiction,” like myself. In my restaurant we replace pasta with mushrooms in our sautéed dishes. It actually tastes much better and you don’t have that desire to keep eating an hour later. Sauté a bunch of mushrooms with butter and garlic, throw in veggies and/or protein, and then whatever sauce you want. I usually throw in half n half, since tomatoes have a lot of carbs. Add a little Parmesan and it’s awesome.

@emily thank you for your insight. I hear you about the keto cookies, I can't be trusted. LOL

@duross I think for me, that is probably the better solution. Sounds delish and I love mushrooms! ;)

Duross, that sounds great! I love sauteed mushrooms. We had them with our steak and salad last night and didn't need a potato or pasta on the side.

I LOVE mushrooms!!
@Peasy - I'm not sure if Konjac and Shiritaki noodles are different. But these that are get are no smell!! I was worried about that also cause I've heard so many things. But, this brand is great. No weird odor.

Cannot wait to try the Konjac noodles! The company sells a rice substitute, as well, which is getting excellent reviews on Amazon.

I love Miracle Noodles! They do have a fishy smell in my experience, but you need to rinse them and boil them, and then it goes away. I love making the angel hair alongside lettuce in a thai chicken peanut bowl, and the rice is great with beef & broccoli stir fry. Also can't wait to try the angel hair to sub for noodles in a bowl of pho, they're basically alike in texture and size. These are amazing for keto!
