Current plan:

Install a Hackers diet style "eat watch" set up on my phone:
* daily weight recording with smoothed trend
* food diary so I can record what I eat as I eat it

Do two weeks of normal eating to capture my current eating habits and get through the initial lag on the weight trend line so that I can decide on the best calorie deficit to aim for.
