Farm Gal 50's Journal, 17 January 2018

I am so excited to see this weight. (OMG) Well, at my age I wondered if it would ever be possible. Especially with all the steroids messing up my body chemistry. Then there was the inability to exercise, and I mean I could do nothing. Even now, I am limited but using the exercise ball, getting a little walk, and I just brought home a new piece of equipment to help strengthen my core. I am waiting for Cliff to put it together. We don't want me to attempt that (for reasons that are inexplicable unless you know me firsthand).

Tonight's dinner was simple--three good-sized meatballs--nothing added to the grass-fed hamburger except mozzarella, salt, and pepper. They were topped in marinara sauce. Also, I had six little Brussel sprouts. That is a relatively large dinner for me.

Tomorrow, our youngest grandson will most likely be here for dinner. I am fixing my Oriental Chicken Salad. This grade schooler loves this salad so much, that last time I made it, he begged for the leftovers. No problem! I am learning how to feed those I love and made meals work for everyone else too! As a treat, I will make some of the homemade gluten-free macaroni and cheese. No one here can tell this from my regular version--and Cliff has to stay gluten-free.

I am still hoping to drop another ten pounds--it would be so great if I could manage that by Spring. Nonetheless, it is always the baby-step thing. I don't want to gain anything back, and if the scale inches down, I will eventually get there. Who knows what can happen?

If you are struggling and on the Keto, I hope you can find your personal solution. We are each unique. The style of eating might vary a bit, but several of my Integrative Medical Professionals told me they hoped I would stick with this plan of eating because they felt it would bring me to a place of healing. That seems to be happening as they predicted.

I hope you are well and smiling at yourself. Keep up the good work and in due season it will reward you!

So here I am in our dinky closet--about the only place I have a mirror thus far except a tiny one in the bath--and just imagine about another 1/3 person added on. Yes, I am still too fluffy, but happy with the improvement. Well, my hair and makeup are not done, but .........
