I hate scales. Had my WI - gained 2 ounces. Not bad you say - but that's on top of 2 ounces Tuesday and a couple pounds last week, and a couple week before - and I've been doing the plan -- no blizzards and such...

Today I was with the manager - and she suggested I do the TO and then the 5 days "plateau buster". I don't know if I can do it - I get hunger sometimes on the plan, let alone take away so much!!!

I suggested it was the yoga class on Monday nights and the Gazelle.....

There could be alot that's contributing to the weight gain: constipation, exercising more than 5 hours a week, water retention, eating foods that are high in sodium, medication, stress, not getting the right amounts of food in (under/over eating), eating foods that are high in sugar (grapes, carrots etc.), having more than 3 frozen meals a week, eating beef more than 3 times a week, eating the same foods day in/out, eating too many heavy starches (rice, potatoes, corn etc.). Take a hard look at your diary, without looking at it it's hard to determine what it could be. Maybe if you listed a week of your daily diary on here someone could help pinpoint something out to you? I hope this helps, I don't want this to make you feel bad, I intend this to be suggestions as a different way to look at your eating. :) Andrea

Andrea --- I soooo appreciate you offering suggestions about what could be going on - thank you for caring!!!!! Some things you mentioned I can right off see it isn't a problem -- I'm having a problem making myself exercise, so not the 5 hours a week; not eating beef even once a week, so not that. BUT -- grapes are one of the VERY few fruits I like, and I've always eaten them, so maybe they've turned on me??? And I think I am guilty of eating close to the same foods....but not sure I get why that matters, do you know? Don't eat frozen, so that isn't it either. You mentioned heavy starches -- would you consider taco shells heavy? Thank you Andrea - really. I'm going to do just what you mentioned!!!!!

Yes, taco shells are considered heavy(made of corn). I've been told that the body gets used to digesting the same foods over and over again. So when something new is introduced it gets excited. Also try eating all your fruits before 4 p.m., apparently it gives the body more time to digest the sugar. Don't eat more than one starch per meal and preferably for breakfast and lunch. I have a list of the limited starches and protein that were given to me when I first started LAWL two years ago. I lost my first 30 pounds then and maintained, so I know the program works. For me it took almost two months to lose more than a pound a week! So believe me I know your frustration. The only problem is that I will not be able to send the list to you until Monday. I will be out of town and away from technology until then. I will put the list under posts instead of journal so that if others want to see it they can. It will also give me time to pick my brain as to other possible reasons or suggestions for you. I do care as well as alot of the other members do. I like how supportive and helpful people are here. Have a good weekend. Andrea

I too have hit plateaus and they can be discouraging. I did gain a pound over the weekend and anticipate the same tomorrow. I think I gain at certain times of the month and then at other times I gain more. I have found it very challenging to stay within the serving sizes today and the last few days. But tomorrow is another day this is a journey we are on. Keep up the good work! and don't get down on your self.......
