Decided not to weigh in today because I ate Papa Murphy's pizza last night. Probably ate about 900 calories worth, but didn't eat too much otherwise. It didn't make me feel bad maybe because it was thin crust.

Gotta run the food gauntlet at Mom's today.

Feeling better in general, although I've had a flareup of knee pain and lower back pain, which is pretty new for me. Mr C said welcome to the 60s. But I wonder if it's the Loom & Leaf mattress. We've had it for about a year, but it feels a lot more firm that I expected.

Cocobutt, when I eat anything with grains in it ... especially wheat, I get hip and knee pain ... and back issues, too. The lectins in the grains attach themselves to the joints and cause the pain.

Interesting, Mom2. And as I continue reading my sugar detox book (written a few years ago), I see that many grains will be cut out for 21 days. But one thing that concerns me is -- what is the truth about coconut oil? The sugar detox diet recommends using coconut oil for cooking instead of vegetable oil, but Mr C said recent news suggests coconut oil is not the healthiest thing to use. People on other forums are saying that research may be flawed, especially as it is endorsed by the Am. Heart Assoc., which accepts large donations from food and drug corporations whose products it endorses in turn. Hard to know who to believe anymore!
