It has been a busy but full day. Slept in till about 10 (woohoo for teaching the kid how to start the dvd herself!) then went to the first birthday party of the day. My monkey had a blast at the bounce house place. Then we went fabric shopping and found some new rings for my slings.

These new rings are sturdy enough I think they could put a carribeaner to shame. Thick as my pinky, soddered so you can see its solid, and silver to boot. Of course, they're priced to match - $2.50 each instead of $.49. Safety first makes it worth the extra though.

So tomorrow I'll be back in business. First thing, need to fix the one that busted and rip out any others of the old guys and redo them too. Next thing, start a new sling in the prettiest silvery grey with camo outside request I got. I want it for myself but I don't think DD would consent anymore.

After that, we hit the second party but didn't stay long. It was waaay past naptime and after the energy she expended she was ready to pass out. We came home and she insisted on going for a walk with the pup and I, and agreed to ride her bike. I think she's finally figured out the whole riding thing. Maybe we can get rid of the training wheels this summer - who knows? She kept insisting on going further, and we went the long loop. Almost 3 miles! She's such a trooper. I pushed her the last 3/4 of a mile, then carried her into the bathtub.

Watching her try and eat dinner was almost as comical as when she was a baby. Bite, vacant stare, chew, stare, gulp, stare, and repeat. I can't believe she actually cleaned her plate, but as soon as it was empty she passed right out.

Today I'm pretty proud of myself for avoiding chocolate cake not once but twice, and for only eating the pizza toppings and not the whole slice. Lord knows how many funny looks I got picking the cheese off the crust but you know what? I'm doing it for me, not them. And it was good!

Tomorrow will be an early morning since I'm singing. Practice is at 7:45 and service isn't until 11 so its a big adjustment from sleeping in and lazing about to practice, sunday school, then service. I am excited though. Wish me luck.

Oh and I can't wait to weigh in tomorrow. Big drop today and no Atkins bars since wed so hoping that they were the culprit and I can start dropping again. Even if poor DD can't get comfy laying out on my tummy anymore :D
