When I began this journey on October 31, 2011, I weighed 295 pounds. As of this morning, Jan 1, 2012, I weighed in at 261.8 pounds (I use a digital scale). I am well over halfway to my initial goal of 235 pounds, having lost 33.2 pounds. I am a bit frustrated because I had set a goal of dropping my weight below 260 by New Year's Day. I only missed it by 1.8 pounds.

On a positive note, I feel better than I have felt in many years. I have lost two inches around my waist. I have switched back to a belt I had to stop using a year and a half ago. I have had to pull pants from the back of the closet that I thought I would never wear again.

Tomorrow I begin the next phase. I will be starting an exercise regimen with the intent of getting myself back into physical shape over the next year with the ultimate goal of running in the 2013 Gate River Run (http://www.gate-riverrun.com/), and hopefully, several River Runs thereafter..
