sorry about this but I'm about to rant. I really don't know what to do each morning I carefully measure out my cereal and milk and then gather my lunch together which is made up of homemade soup and ww yoghurt and fruit. I then come home and have an evening meal which has been carefully made by my hubby who makes aure it is calorie balanced. I even increased my walking but nothing seems to work. one week I lose 2lb then the following week I put 2lb on. I know all of you don't know me and you don't know if I am giving the whole picture, but being honest I do have the odd treat but I don't think I have enough to warrant this weight increase. rant over thank you for reading now back to it and fingers crossed for next weigh in.
212.0 lb Lost so far: 4.0 lb.    Still to go: 12.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 2.0 lb a week

Feeling for you! I've managed to lose over the last few months for the first time in my life. I'm drinking 4 pints of water a day and trying to cut out all processed foods. Cakes, biscuits, crisps and sodas are pretty much off limits. Bread, potatoes pasta and rice are limited. I drink a few strong black coffee's every day and enjoy wine or lager in the evenings. I have been snacking on hard boiled eggs and 25g serving of dry roasted peanuts. A couple of slices of pizza once in a blue moon but never the whole pizza like before. I've learned that to feel slightly hungry is ok...embrace the hunger feeling, it means your burning calories.

Good advice! I also find switching up your workout helps. Look up HIIT training even if its low inpact. Also be mindful of salt i take. Ive only just started my journey :( got a long way to go we can support one another!

How often do you weigh yourself? I find my weight can vary by up to 1kg (2lb) from any one measurement to the next, so I need to look at the daily values averaged over a few days and see what the trend is doing (up or down). If you have an android phone there's an excellent app called Libra which you put your daily weight measurements into and it plots the trend for you. I find if I've had a quite salty meal and had enough to drink, I'll be much heavier the following day. Whereas if I've done a run or cycle in the sun I'll be much lighter the following day - it's just water levels fluctuating. Looking at the trend across several days (or weeks) helps to smooth out these variations and give you a real picture of what's happening.

I would say check the sugar/net carbs you are eating. Just because it is Weight Watchers or Slimming World approved it doesn`t mean it is decent fuel for your body (look at added sugar to improve the taste of low fat/fat free products) I am not saying that you should take my advice as I am severely obese. But I am less obese than I was.

Thank you all for your advice and encouragement. I'm going to beat this hump. Im never going to be as slim as I was in my 20s but a little lighter would be good. I'll check out the app and also look into other products to eat other than ww. Thanks again .

sounds like you are already being quite strict on yourself and having the occaisional treat is good for you x not sure how long you have been fluctuating 2lb up n down, if you have increase your workout that'sprobably the best thing you can do to help at the moment so hang in there and have faith that your weight will drop, you may be building muscle which is heavier than get cells!
