mec7790's Journal, 26 May 2016

Well I have been on Paleo diet (not strict) for about a week and I am starting to lose inches and some pounds. I try to walk at least a mile a day, but sometimes I am tired after working all day. My husband is not very support as he only eats meat and potatoes, nothing green I'm not kidding. So I end up making 2 dinners, one for me and one for him. Some days it's just a drag, but I am starting to see results, so I am not quitting this time.

I eat LCHF, my husband doesn't. I eat the same protein he does, make him a starch, and me a veg. easy peasy!

It's difficult to make changes when your partner doesn't want to make the same changes, but if that's what he is used to eating and he is ok with that then what can you do? When I started on this weight loss journey again, my husband wasn't automatically on board and then after a couple of weeks he began to make some changes, but that was on his own. He walks with me everday, he is ok with meatless meals 2x/week and he has even gone low sodium. And yes, I have to make two meals sometimes, but you know this isn't his journey; it's mine. He's healthy, at his ideal weight and doesn't need to exercise like a manic. He's where he is supposed to be; I'm not. I am lucky enough that my husband eats a variety of things. Maybe you could make large batches of weekly meals for yourself when you have time, portion it out and put it in the refrigerator or deep freezer?

This doesn't have to be a road block or a hinderance. Hugs.
