PicklesPickles's Journal, 22 May 2016

I know the talk is against weighing too often. Right now, I feel that I need to do it daily. Trying to control what I eat is the same exact feeling as quitting smoking. I'm trying to continuously remain conscious of my condition and not just accept it anymore. A time always comes when I sit back and think - hey. this is me. I'm happy with me. I love my life. -
And although confidence is great, this confidence does me no good if the body it's in will help to contribute to an earlier death.
So, here we go :)

I weigh myself daily, too. I feel it helps me stay on track. Of course, there will be fluctuations, but too many "up" days and I know I need to make adjustments. I only log my weight on here once a week to keep a good schedule going. Love your profile pic!

I only weigh in on Monday mornings. My reasoning is because of the fluctuations that occur naturally. If my scales shows a 2 pound drop by Thursday, my psyche convinces me that it's okay to eat that brownie or cookie or whatever. By avoiding the scale accept for Monday, it keeps me honest in what I'm eating and journaling. Whatever the scale shows, I record it. Since I'm in this for the long haul, I know the scale will level out as the weeks go by. This is what is working for me so far. It may not be the strategy for you. Stick with your plan.

I think the weighing everyday works for some people. It keeps them very aware of if they are progressing or failing. It's easier to correct a day's worth of gain then a week's worth of gain.
