Firebelly's Journal, 06 March 2016

Even though I have a digital scale, every time I step on it I feel like I'm spinning on the Wheel of Fortune and should start clapping and shouting "come on, big numbers!" LOL. Dropped a big number this week - hurray! Adhered to LCHF quite well, stopped giving myself food treats after errands, and am trying to replace that habit with something better (still haven't solidified what yet).

Also got my dreadlocs cut up to my chin. Let's hope that that's not the reason for the big loss although it could definitely be a factor. Last time I cut them drastically, my scale was 10 pounds lighter the next day! But I like to think that that loss was just a result of a low carb whoosh.

A friend of mine used aromatherapy treats. She'd mixed up a scent she loved - that said that it reminded her of her grandmother's house, the only one who told her that she was a beautiful, worthwhile person when she was growing up. She used it instead of food rewards when she was losing 320 pounds. She said if she'd had a good day, or lost weight, did her exercise (before the exercise became it's own reward) she would wear it, and then try to find some opportunity to encourage someone else in their life, or brighten their day, like her grandmother had. She lost all the weight eventually, and became a much calmer, beautiful inside person than when she was miserably overweight. You could tell if she was struggling with food on a day, because she'd be wearing orange/peppermint, or vanilla/anise/basil or another of the scents she mixed that smelled great, but discourage appetite.
