I came across this article in the Hastings Observer just a few minutes ago and it may be of interest to people here: St Leonards mum on weight loss documentaryI have to say I am actually quite *wary* of slimming drugs, plant-based or otherwise and never used them... This particular drug is claimed to prevent the absorption of calories from carbohydrates, fat and sugar. I don't know how it works but presumably what isn't broken down and absorbed by the body, goes right through and ends up in the toilet?!? It also regulates blood glucose and insulin levels... surely, there must be a catch like side effects or other unwanted consequences linked to taking any kind of medications. I need to know a bit more about the compound Clavitanol™, which is patented and appears to be extracted from plants. The worry with that type of drugs is people may be tempted to misuse them to cheat their way to faster weight loss. I will try and watch the TV program about it. As it appears to be viewable online, anybody in the world *should* be able to watch it. Edit: I found reviews of it. Clavitanol side effects and XLS Medical Max Strength Review – reduce calorie intake from carbs, sugar and fatAs an aside, I am not very pleased that Hastings Observer appears to be endorsing this product in their article as if it was an advert, which makes me wonder if they are actually actively promoting it on behalf of the company under the disguise of being informative.
