I had a good talk with my mom today. She had read this book about how processed foods are bad for you and that we should take a look back at how our parents or grandparents ate. For me, my mom always cooked from scratch. We never ate out, and there was never pop in our house. Also my grandma had a garden and I remember picking carrots and just brushing the dirt off. The carrots were so sweet, not bitter like so many carrots taste from the grocery store. Next summer I plan to have my own garden. This year besides flowers I just have tomatoes and peppers. I know this isn't all going to happen over night. It's a lot of small changes that include getting my family on board too. I'm excited! The end result will be worth it :)
