Hugs to all,

I need some help, I am finding it hard to keep on track when I am in a moderate to severe amount of pain. I do it sometimes when I am feeling down, but not as often as when I am hurting. I know in my mind that I should not do it, and that i am turning to the food for a small amount of comfort. Yet I find myself doing it anyway. Do any of you have a trick or method to avoid this situation? I would be greatful for any ideas or advice you can give me.

Are we talking physical pain? or Emotional?

Oh never mind I see in your profile looks like physical pain. That's a tough one. Sorry to hear, hang in there. You could try and distract yourself when that happens, take a nap, watch tv, something to take the mind off the pain and the food?

I too suffer from a lot of pain and have problems using food for comfort. I see you have pets try to focus on loving on them, if you like to read start a good book and grab it when you want to eat. For some listing to good music helps. I sometimes talk to God I sometimes feel like God thinks not you again but of course that's not true. Good luck

Thank you all for the support and ideas. Yes Joc, it is physical pain. I have used RPG's, both solo and MMO's, as well as music and take a warm bath. I listen to audio books when I am not listening to music. One of my puppies is almost always on my lap. I think he helps to easy the pain, or at least keeps the stress down (and my blood pressure). There are times when it seems like nothing helps. =( But I still open my eyes every morning and that is a blessing everyday. All your suggestions are greatly appreciated. Hugs to you all
