Weight is up, but considering that I have had sweets in my diet around the holiday, I am not doing too bad. I didn't go too far off the reservation, and found I really enjoyed my normal foods after straying from my usual fare. I also noticed how badly I felt from eating gluten and sugar. I avoided diary for the most part, and I have been able to reintroduce eggs in small quantities. I try to limit myself to pastured eggs when at all possible.

Started making bone broth regularly. It is so good in the morning after my coffee, with all this brutal cold weather. It warms me up from the inside! DH and I have been able to stay healthy for 2+ winters now since we started with the bulletproof coffee in the a.m. Feels like the bone broth is further insurance against getting sick! I hate getting sick! I just don't have the time....as if anyone does. ;-)

Glad to see others navigating their way back to eating well, and better self care.

Sounds like you're doing great. Just wondering...how is that bullet-proof coffee? Is it just melted butter stirred in?

Hi Bellamomm, butter stirred in to the coffee is GROSS! As gross as it sounds. :-) Bulletproof coffee has unsalted (preferably grassfed, like Kerrygold) butter and coconut oil, or MCT oil blended in. I use a stick blender. You blend until it gets frothy. Can't do dairy anymore, so I make my own ghee or clarified butter from Kerrygold, and use that with some coconut cream. Without the milk solids it doesn't froth and you get oil slicks. Yuck! But with coconut cream it has a bit of froth. I also use some gelatin powder (Great Lakes) in the coffee. The collagen is a good protein, and good for skin, hair and joints. Love the constant energy it gives me. No energy crash, or hunger a few hours after breakfast. Easy to go till 1 or later for lunch.
