Hi everyone! I'm very happy to have found this site. My sugar consumption has been so out of control, that I should probably be in a 12-step program. I am also a recovering alcoholic. My psychiatrist prescribed ReVia 50mg for my sugar addiction. It is an opioid antagonist and is used by alcoholics and heroin addicts to overcome cravings in early sobriety. It works by blocking the endorphin receptors in the brain so that drinking/drugging does not give you the "rush". Additionally, it reduces cravings. He prescribed it to me for my sugar addiction. As of right now, (it's only been a few days), I have found my relationship with sugar to be like my relationship with broccoli--I like broccoli, but I don't crave it, obsess over it, nor do I over-indulge. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Has anyone had any experience with ReVia?
