I've now been dieting for 5 months and have lost 39 pounds. I told myself when I started that once I got to 205, I would lose the rest of my weight slowly over a longer time period. I'm not as much interested in losing weight as I am in forming strong eating and exercising habits. It will be hard to transition out of dieting and introducing fattier and starchier foods but I'll do it slowly to try and tease out what effects they has on me.
My guess is I'll keep losing 2-3 pounds a week at first but I hope to slow it down to about 2-3 a month.
This, ironically, seems like it will be MUCH harder than just losing 40 pounds, but it's much more important to me.
206.0 lb Lost so far: 39.0 lb.    Still to go: 31.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
