How funny it is that we can begin to feel sorry for ourselves when we hit a snag or mountain in our lives. I have been so busy that I have not carved out time to workout and I have not been eating as well as I should have. It was brought to my attention in a not so pleasant way by my husband. I was telling him that my best friend has lost 60lbs since we started on this journey and she is almost down to my size. He was like "no offense, but is she so successful because she is more disciplined than you?" I had to admit that yes, she is. She eats right and very rarely uses her flex points. Even when she didn't feel like exercising, she dragged her butt to the gym anyway. I haven't been in over a month! I have done some yoga but not a good workout. I will admit that I have one excuse, I did pull a muscle the last time I worked out and I had some medical scares but when I was better, I should have been back in the gym.

I am proud to say, that I am back to tracking what I eat (as of yesterday - trying to start the week out right) and will be hitting the gym tonight! I haven't weighed myself, so I'll do that tonight and post my weigh in.

Due to me not working out, I noticed that I am lethargic in the mornings and my energy levels are drastically low. So it is true that working out does help you feel better.

Stay encouraged and gang in there! We all have times when we are not as diciplined and entusiastic about our lifestyle changes (I know I do!) Just jump back in there and never give up.. you can do it ;o)

Okay...I just have to comment on that 18 point Quizno's salad. I only eat two pieces of the flat bread and I use about a 1/4 of the dressing, so I calculated my point and calorie value up to 14 points - 700 calories - respectively. I was at first shocked that I consumed that much at lunch until I read the breakdown.

Yes it's very true working out actually DOES give you more energy! Who knew?! And that's a little harsh from your husband but I suppose it's a wake-up call. Just make sure you're doing this for yourself and not for his sake. You can do it babe!

You are a true buddy Laura because only "my girl" would say that. I don't know, I don't think he was being too harsh just constructively honest. He knows what my goal is and it gives me some ammunition when he starts complaining that I spend too much time at the gym because he's not getting enough of my time. That is my number one thing - always do the healthier lifestyle, dieting for you, not someone else! I am going to the gym tonight. I normally only work out on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday but I have been out of my "regularly scheduled program" so I am going tonight. :-)
