Annoyed....missed a step and blew out my left ankle. No surgery, but 4 weeks in a cast and then 6 to 8 weeks in a boot with aggressive rehab. NOT HAPPY!!! Getting medical pass for gym, but going to invest in equipment to continue to work out at home. Absolutely refuse to fall off the wagon....

Holy Shit! Sorry to hear that. It's great to hear you're not giving yourself a free pass not to exercise. You're pretty tough!

Onedaat...Thanks. Started seriously in '10 dropped 70+ pds total, but had to have 6 surgeries bwt April and June of '10, throwing everything for a loop. Can't get knocked sideways again. Up 20, so want to change that dial...Can't figure out how much the cast weighs...lol...big sucker...

Wow 70 pounds is huge achievement, I see why you don't want to lose that. What kind of exercises do you have planned for home? I'm trying to find a cheap weight bench on Craigslist WITH the bar and weights included. I really enjoy lifting weights, it might be good for you too in these circumstances.

I use a firm large exercise ball for crunches and back extensions. Also use dumbbells (15/20pds) while on the ball and standing.

I should get one of those balls, I hear a lot about them. I tend to use a un-padded bench to lift on and it can kill my back. Are the ball all the same or is there something specific I should look for when getting one? What diet are you on btw? I've been doing low carb induction/ketogenic.

I control the firmness by the amount of air I pump into the ball. As for my diet, I lost the initial 70 on the Smart for Life Cookie Diet. I just got into a zone and cookied myself to death. During '12 I managed to put 15 to 20 back on, without having clothing sizes change. Since the beginning of the year I've been on the Fast Diet 2 days a week @ 500 calories, and between 1200 and 1500 a day the other 5 days. I like the discipline of it, and I can work it around my schedule versus it working me. Gotta go...have a good weekend!
